From the Mouth of a Dog: A Tale of Human Behaviour From a Dog's Perspective (Tiny Tembo Publishing, 2015)

"It's about time self-centred humans started listening to what dogs are saying. You may not like peeing on telephone poles, but we dogs do. Get it?" (Milo Lonergan)

From the publisher: From the Mouth of a Dog is a memoir of Milo, a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier with a cantankerous disposition. The book is written from Milo’s perspective, with translation and interpretation provided by his human slave, Stevie. Milo falls in and out of love, organizes dogs to fight climate change and social injustice, and rails against humans' inability to put themselves insides a dog's skin. With an attitude that belies the old adage that dogs are a man's best friend, follow Milo as he balances two worlds, one canine and the other human.

Riding in a Matatu: The Perils of Living in Kenya and Working for the UN (Tiny Tembo Publishing, 2012)

Riding in a Matatu is a humorous account of the author's two years living in Kenya and working for the UN Environmental Programme. The book tells two parallel stories: one of the vivid contrasts in Kenyan society and the other recounting the vagaries of working in the UN system. Permeating the writing is the sense of living in two worlds and the difficulty transitioning back and forth from the raw, earthiness and sometimes violence of Kenya to the consumerism and self-indulgences of Western culture. From Lonergan's unsuccessful attempt to become a Maasai warrior to the story of his pet rhinoceros, Murani, readers will be constantly beguiled and entertained.
